Instrumental Music Department's Fall Concert


Miller South's instrumental music students presented a fantastic fall concert on Thursday, November 19, 2009. Over 70 students represented the orchestra, band, and steel drums during the performance. Several students played multiple instruments in all three groups. The directors are Doug Bayda, Eric Langreder,and Matt Dudack.

Mrs. Summers Has Returned!


Mrs. Jackie Summers, our bullying prevention specialist, presented to each grade level today at Miller South. She held a bully forum with each grade level during their scheduled lunch period today. Mrs. Summers was at Miller South last year and is excited about being able to return this school year. Mrs. Summers will be visiting our school on Wednesdays. She will create a link from Miller South School Blogspot for anyone who would like to contact her. Mrs. Summers will also take student requests to see her through a request form located by her office. Her office will be in the talk out room next to Ms. Dobol's office. Be sure to say stop by and welcome her back. This is a picture of her sharing with the 6th graders today during their lunch period.

disinfecting wipes




Thank you to our wonderful PTA! We are very appreciative of the disinfecting wipes you have provided for us to use in the dining room! Many of us did not like the old nasty buckets and sponges that we used to use - and these really make our dining room smell great! We think that these are better and much more sanitary. Thank you again for making another great purchase for Miller South!

Fun New Technology!

Greetings! Well students, when you are asked at the dinner table, "What did you learn in school today, Johnny?" (which would be really strange if you name isn't Johnny - but anyway). You will no longer be able to give the lame answer of "Nothing". As fast as parents can get to the computer, they maybe able to prove that answer wrong. Those days are over, and you will soon find out why!

Dress Code Fashion Show

Good evening and welcome to
Miller South 2009-2010 Orientation.


MAKE A BETTER WORLD is our theme this school year. We've decided that to help make a better world, GREEN is the New Pink!

Though it may be extremely hot, the show must go on!

Bet you've got it now! Yes, it IS Miller South School! Maybe some of you Googlemaps satellite enthusiasts have seen this view on line, but believe me, there is nothing more exhilarating than taking these pictures from 1000 feet above the Akron terrain, from the window of a 4 seater cessna! New school hours for 09-10 school year

The school day is changing for Miller South students this year. Students must be in the auditorium at 8 a.m. and the school day will end at 3 p.m. The change means students will be arriving and finishing 10 minutes earlier than years past.

First day of school is Aug. 26!

Miller South staff finishes great 2008-09 year

The school year officially ended June 4 with tearful eighth graders in the halls, but the work for Miller South's teachers and support staff continues into the summer break.
